Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG has for many years been an important supplier and reliable partner to the global printing industry in the areas of equipment, services and consumables. In total, around 11,500 personnel work for Heidelberg, of which around a third in the global sales and service network. More than 85 percent of the company’s revenues, most recently amounting to € 2.5 billion, are generated abroad.
Status quo and objectives
The group-wide financial status and FX-differentiated cash flow forecasting of Heidelberger have been relying on TIP since 2004 to avoid multiple manual inputs of data and to generating more flexible reports in shorter time periods. The guarantee management module followed in 2005. The corporate treasury department prepares both analytical reports as well as reports for subsidiaries on the basis of SAP BusinessObjects. Payments at Heidelberger are managed via TIS. In the course of the upgrade to TIP 3.1, the aim was also to establish integration with TIS. The primary objective was to automate as many processes as possible associated with the management of financial status positions in order to become even more efficient and further increase reliability.
Integration of TIS and TIP
TIS and TIP are long-standing cooperation partners. The sound understanding of the other system and established teamwork made it possible to establish the integration via data connectors within the space of just a few weeks. Despite the fact that both systems are hosted in different data centres, it is now possible to fully automate the exchange of master data and account balances via secure web-based services. Due to the connection of both systems, it is now no longer necessary to enter financial status data manually into TIP. The result is that all the figures taken into account in the financial status can now be accessed at the press of a button.
